Our family is on the go all the time.  While I do cook frequently, I am constantly looking for food products that are not only quick & easy, but fit in with my Champion Powered Food Plan as well.  When I first began my journey with food in 1998, quick & easy foods were limited to Little Debbies and Pringles. Thank goodness the food industry has caught up with consumers b/c these foods certainly don’t work on my food plan.

Now, there are lots of options when it comes to quick & easy healthful foods!

I was in Costco the other day and super excited to find lots of on-the-go food options that I could share with my clients.  Don’t get me wrong here, I am all about home cooked, fresh & healthy food.  I am also realistic as to how much ‘home cooking’ modern day families can keep up with.  While crockpots and meal planning help a bunch, there are still times we need some quick foods to fuel the fam and that’s my specialty.

Here are some great things I found:

So, how do I figure out which foods work and which ones don’t?  The first thing I look at is the ingredient list. I am looking for what I call, Ingredients to Avoid.  This is my special list of toxic ingredients, like hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup, that encourage inflammation in the body.  Since we now know that disease begins with inflammation, food can be your number ally in reducing it.  Conversely, it can be your number one cause for chronic inflammation.

Foods high in sugar, artificial sweeteners and preservatives are the number 1 culprit in triggering symptoms like migraine headache, acne and other nasty health issues.

Although our life is fast paced and there’s a lot to get accomplished in one day, food is my number one priority because if I’m not on my A game, no one else in the family is either.  Whether it’s time or money,  if we don’t invest in our health, we will pay a grand price at some point…this I know.
