Work out so you can pig out.

I meet a lot of people who live by this motto and I’m here to tell you…you don’t have to do it this way!! Ok, working out is great for your body and all, but working out so you can pig out isn’t going to get you the level of health you might be seeking.  It’s definitely NOT the philosophy that I teach my clients.

I’ll explain more…The food we put in our bodies every day has a profound impact on our health.  Our food and lifestyle choices impact our inflammation levels, have the ability to turn on or off certain genetic predispositions for disease AND our food fuels our energy levels and mood.

WHEN WE USE FOOD TO ONLY MAINTAIN THE WAY OUR BODIES LOOK, WE ARE MISSING THE BOAT IN TERMS OF OUR HEALTH & WELLBEING.

In other words, working out so that you can pig out will ultimately set you back with your health goals.  Eating well and developing what I call a healthy ‘foodstyle’ is a permanent commitment to higher levels of health, not just something you do to get a cheat day/meal.

When you commit to a new way of living and discover things like ‘Simple Switches’ that I teach, your body won’t crave all that crappy food anymore. When you transform your connection to food from “food as reward” to “food as medicine” something magical happens and you are able to choose foods that fuel your body and give you vitality.

You learn to connect what you eat with how you feel and perform (in sport, work, & life) and my clients tell me that once they begin to feel good and reduce unwanted health symptoms, they don’t want to eat nutritionally void foods that make them sick anymore.  What we eat impacts everything from our skin to our mood.
